In Macao, you can make the fullest use of the free shuttle buses of the casinos and hotels. Besides, the local bus system is also very convenient. If not necessary, don't use local cabs.

For your one-day trip, here is my suggestion:
Fisherman Wharf - Macao Museum and Ruins of St. Paul - Senado Square - Macao Tower - Venetian
