About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

USA green card holder and visa-free travel

Hi, I hold and Indian passport but have a USA Green Card. Is it possible to leave the airport for 72 hrs by enjoying the 72-hour free transit while traveling from USA to India or vice-versa in Beijing or Shanghai? Or is the Permanent Residency irrelevant and only the passport matters?

Only the passport is valid for enjoying this policy, so you cannot enjoy it. If you stay in China for more than 24 hours, you need to apply for a transit G in advance for transfering.
