I have a Q2 visa currently in china but a company offered me a job...

I am an American citizen and I have a Q2 type currently in china but a company offered me a job...can I apply or switch to a Z type while I am in china? Or can I apply for temporary residence? Thank you.

Changing Q2 to Z type is not available.
You can try to apply for a Z type in HK after you get a Work Permit in China. Then with your Work Z, you can enter China mainland and change your work Z to a resident permit.
