About:Apply for China Visa in a Third Country

I am a Canadian wanting to get a tourist L for china but will be in Japan for 4 months before

I am heading to Japan (Sapporo) to study as an international student and have plan to go to china, (followed by Hong Kong and Taiwan) but because I will be studying in Japan for 4 months, it is longer than the validity of the visa, so I was wondering if it is possible to apply for a Tourist L, either in Sapporo, or by mail, or to have someone apply for it for me in Canada? Thank You

You can try apply a Tourist L just in the Chinese consulate Sapporo in person. Remember to take your proof of legal status in Japan when applying for the Tourist L.

I heard some officers in the consulate can speak English, so it is not needed to worry about the language troubles.
