flying through urumqi, need a transit visa

Question

If I were to fly Melbourne --> Guangzhou --> Urumqi --> Almaty, spending no more than 2 hours in either of the airports and without any plans to leave any of the airports in China, will I require a transit G? Urumqi is not on that list, but since I'm not leaving the airport, maybe there might be a different regulation. I am an Australian Citizen

Hong long will you flight from Guangzhou to Urumqi?If your total transfering time (time spending in two airport plus time on the flight from guangzhou to urumqi) is less than 24 hours, you will not need the Transit G. You can enjoy the 24-hour free transit policy. Otherwise, you need to apply for a Transit G.
