About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

I have been living in China almost a year now under a Z visa

I am planning on taking the Transiberian out if China the day after my visa expires. I need to extend it for only 24-48 hours. What are my best options?

Stephen, I think you should visit the local entry and exit mangement bureau in advance and ask them if you can apply for a L type after your Z type expires. If so, you won't have any problem for your Transiberian train. Otherwise, you may start your trip before your Z type expires.
