About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Multiple entry L - can I extend without leaving?

I'm from the USA and got a dual entry 1 month visa in HK. Can I extend it for the full allotted two months without leaving? I assume doing so would negate the dual entry option... Alternatively, do you think it would be possible to extend for a third month at the end of the second month, given that I leave and reenter?
Thank you!

You can extend it during each of your stay of duration in China mainland and it will not affect your dual entry. After that you can stay in China for a long time.
You can try extend your second entry for another month, around 30 days to stay in China, but you cannot leave ad re-enter with it. Once you leave China you cannot enter after your second entry is used.

At most, you can stay 4 months, however, it is not assured.

For each extension, you need to apply, but it is not assured that your requirement can get approval from the local Exit-Entry Adminstration Bureau easily.
