About:China Visa Application in USA

I have a baby boy new born needing apply visa to go back China,

his Chinese mother becomes US citizen after his birth, we were asked that he can only applys for traveler ID doc instead of needing a visa, and send us home. Please advise as I read it if one of parents is us citizen child only needs it. I am a native taiwan born have dual citizen with taiwan and US...thank you

Which country's passport does your son have?
If he has Chinese passport, he needs to apply a Travel Document, otherwise the son needs to apply for a visa.
It is suggested to prepare documents for applying visa. If they accept your documents, you may apply it. If not, you may need to apply a Travel Document.

My son has us passport....was demanded by the lady with travel doc ...we're so confused...
