I am a British passport holder and I'm looking to visit Shenzhen for a day.

Am I able to apply for a visa in Hong Kong and how long does it take?

You can try to apply one in HK through a local tour agency. The shortest time I know for getting it is within one day if applicants sumbit the documents before 08:30. Usually, the process days are around 2 to 4 working days. The exact time you need to consult with agencies directly.
