About:Chinese National Day

Tiananmen Square, Oct 1st

I would like to attend Tiananmen Square on Oct 1st, is this a year of a military parade? Are Western tourists generally welcomed during the festivities or am I better off leaving the locals and local tourists to enjoy the national day? Will information be widely available in the area regarding events? Many thanks in advance.

Marcus, I am afraid that there is no military parade this year. So far, non-related news has been reported. According to the information from the internet, there might be a parade in 2015. Normally, military parade is held every 5 or 10 years.
