Obtaining tickets

Hi, I'm planning on travelling next June through China I will book the trains prior to leaving Australia. I believe i can book 3 months in advance and the tickets delievered to hotels when i get there. But if i go from one train to another without staying the night can i collect tockets at the station ? This might be better for all the tickets unless they can be posted to me in Australia before I leave.
