About:China Tourist Visa
Can or not apply china visa without mention return date. Still not confirm when to travel back.

Hafiz, return air ticket and hotel reservation are required for the L type application. If you can't confirm when to get back, then you may find someone in China to send you an invitation letter. With the invitation letter in hands, you needn't provide the air ticket and hotel booking.0
