About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

BRIBANE- GUANGZHOU-LONDON

Flying with China Southern Airlines from Brisbane to Heathrow London. As I have a 16 hour layover I've booked a room at hotel next to Guangzhou airport. Do I need a visa for this layover ?

It is not needed.
Since you only stay for 16 hours, you can enjoy the 72-hour free transit policy. Before you depart from Brisbane, you can tell the airline tht you want to enjoy this policy. Upon reaching Guangzhou airport, you can get a stay permit at the immigration counter to leave the airport.
