Traveling to Xian during the Golden Week, any advise please?

Hello, I will be traveling to Zheng Zhou on the 28th September 2014, then to Deng Feng (Ling Bao) and reach Xian on the 30th of September. On the 1st of October, I will be in Xian, following that 2nd Oct to Luo Yang and 3rd Oct, to Kai Feng. I've heard horror stories of traveling during the Golden week, of massive crowds. How is the situation? Is it that bad? Any advise would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

It's true because many Chinese tourists go out to travel during National Day Holiday. The tourist attractions will be very crowded. If you already arranged your itinerary, you should do your best to book round-trip train and airtickets as early as you can. Sometimes, you need to take long distance bus. Then you should buy the tickets from the long distance bus stations as early as you can. There are fewer bus stations that support on-line ticket sales. Therefore, you need to buy it at the scene. Sometimes the hotel you stay at may help you book the tickets. When you visit the attractions, you'd better take care of your valuables very well because there are thieves.
