About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Visa extension for a US citizen with an L type

I am a US citizen with an L type with a permission to stay for 60 days in China. But I am planning to stay in China for 90 days. Is it possible for me to apply for an extension in the US before I leave or should I apply for the extension in China after I get there? Thanks!

It is not allowed to extend it in USA, but you can extend it after you reaching China.
7 days before your L expires, you need to go to local Exit-Entry Adminstration Bureau for applying for an extension.
