About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Cruise passengers, but fly back to UK, can I enjoy the 72-hour transit

If we sail into Shanghai and fly home to uk from there later the same day will we be eligible for the free 72 hour transit.

We will be in shanghai for less than 24 hours, if we need a transit visa how much does this cost. I want to know before I book the cruise.

Thanks

If you sail to Shanghai and fly back to London, you cannot enjoy 72-hour free transit, because this policy is only applicable to those making international flights tranfering.

For your situation, if you stay in Shanghai for less than 24 hours, you can enjoy the 24-hour free transit policy for free. You can apply for a stay permit at the immigration at the Port to leave for Pudong airport. In this way, no transit G type is needed.

Thank you Drew for your quick reply. That makes it so much easier, and may sway my choice of cruise.
