About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

duration of stay and dual entry

I'm a US citizen with an L visa. The 'enter before' date is October 9 with 2 entries permitted and a duration of 30 days per visit. It issued on April 9th.
I plan to enter by September 30th, only about 1 1/2 weeks before the 'enter before' date expires. Will I still be able to exit after 30 days and re-enter on it, or will I need to get an extension from a local PSB or Exit-Entry Adminstration Bureau in order to enter a second time?
Alternatively, is it possible to apply for an extension of the 'enter before' date and/or 'duration of stay'/number of entries from the US before I leave?

After you stay around 1 1/2 weeks in China, you can get out of China smoothly. After that, you cannot re-enter China again since your L has been expired.

If you apply to extend your current one after you enter on September 30, only your stay of duration for this time can be extended for at most another 30 days, but you cannot use it to re-enter China for a second time.

It is impossible to extend the "enter before date" from USA before you leave. If you want to re-enter China, you can try to apply another L for visiting China.
