October 3-4 weeks, Trip itinerary?

We are going to arrive in Beijing around October 10th and from there we are planning on the following itinerary below. We like to see autumn foliage and prefer to be in the nature rather then city hopping.

4 days Beijing (Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Great Wall Hike)
7 - 10 days Szichuan ( Chengdu, NP, Tiger Gorge)
7 -10 days Yunnan

Which are other must-see autumn destinations in China? Where could we stopover on the way to Jiuzhaigou or Chengdu? BTW I have been already to Beijing, Xian, Shanghai, Harbin and Tibet but it's my partner first time to China.

Many thanks
Tinka

To view the autumn foliage, in Beijing, you are most recommended to go to the Fragrant Hills, In Sichuan, Jiuzhaigou is a must. From Beijing, you can go to Chengdu first, for a stopover. Then take a bus or airplane to Jiuzhaigou.

As it is the first time for your partner to China, you should show him around China in the most popular cities. The recommended itinerary is like this:
Beijing - Harbin - Shanghai - Xian - Tibet - Chengdu - Yunnan

If you wanna visit Tibet, apart from your visa, a Tibet Travel Permit is needed, which you have to get from a travel agency. Also your travel plan covers so many places. It would be best to turn to a travel agency. If needed, this website, Travel China Guide, is a good choice.
