You need to apply for a L type in advance from the Chinese consulate that has jurisdiction right in your area in advance. The L type requires passport with a validity of six months and two blank pages at least, filled 2013 version application form affixed with a recent passport photo, round-trip air tickets and hotel reservation. For the indian citizen, he/she must provide her legal stay document in the USA.
