My Question is: I'm traveling from Delhi to taipei via Shanghai pudong through china eastern airline, Is transit type is require for 4 hr stay at airport.

Since you just stay in that city for around 4 hours, no transit type is needed. You can enjoy the 24-hour free transit with your passport at Pudong airport. If you want to get out of the airport, you need to apply for a stay permit at the immigration. If you just want to stay in the airport, nothing is needed.
