Intra-Company Transfer Work Experience

I'm considering an opportunity with my current employer in Shanghai (I am US based) but am concerned whether I will be able to get a visa. In the case of an intra-company transfer, is the 2 years of working experience still strictly enforced for a Z type? At the time that I apply for it, I will have worked for the company for just over a year.

I do have my Bachelor's degree and before graduation, I had a paid internship for 14 months (was technically a contractor through an agency for 11 of those months). Will internship experience pre-graduation in a closely related field count at all towards the 2 year requirement?

Finally, I've heard talk of using a M type and making regular trips as necessary. Is this at all a common practice?

Thank you!!!

Since it is a job change among one company, it is no need to worry about it.

The 2 years working experience is needed for applying a work permit for you by the company. If you company can provide you an proof to show that you have a two years working experience and help you to get a work permit, there is no problem.

The thing you need to do is to use the work permit and the invitation letter the company give together with your passport and application letter to apply Z in your local embassy/consulate.

If they can help you to get the work permit for China, you do not need to worry about it. It will not cause you troubles for getting Z in the end.

Since the company will help you, so you just need to follow the steps the company requires, so that you can get it in the end.

Jerry, thank you for your response! Yes, the company definitely will be handling and helping me in the process. What happens if they can prove only 1 year? Does it still matter less because it is one company?
