I will be collecting a friend at 9.00am in T2 Beijing Capital Airport on Friday morning. Is there a telephone hotline at T2 which I can ring on Friday morning to check whether the flight is on time.

The hotline for the airport is 010-96158. Dial this number and you can get the exact info. As well as that, the airport will broadcast the lastest departures and arrivals in Chinese and English, so you can listen to the broadcasting careful. Or go to see the display screen on which you will find whether the flight will arrive on time.
