About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does transiting mean I can't fly Osaka Beijing Tokyo?

Does it have to be a third country just not a third airport? Also, If I fly into Beijing can I transit internationally out of Shanghai? Most international flights I'm looking at connect through Shanghai.

If you want to enjoy the 72-hour free transit, you cannot fly Osaka-Beijing-Tokyo. Under this policy, it should be the third country instead of a third airport.

If you fly into Beijing, you can fly out of China from Shanghai internationally. But if your tranfering time is over 24 hours, you need to apply for a transit visa. If it is within 24 hours, it is not needed.
