Buying duty free in Hong Kong

Will be in arriving in Hong Kong and staying for several days and then on to the mainland of China to visit family. Can we buy duty free things at the Hong Kong airport or in downtown Hong Kong and then bring them into China as gifts?

Yes, you can buy things at the duty-free shops at the airport or in downtown area as gifts for your friends.

Thanks, Lucy. Do you happen to know where I can find the regulations as to how much liquor we can bring in to China? I searched various websites and get different amounts.

You can take 1.5 L (probably two bottles) without paying the duty.
