About:Visa Application for Children Born in US with Chinese Parents

What type of visa should i appy for a baby born in us with chinese parents who have us nationality?

Hi,

my baby is over 1 year old and was born in US. His mom is holding chiense passport with US permenant residence rights, his father is a US citizen, they have decide to send the baby back to China to live with their grandparents as long as he can, so what type should i apply for? Looks like either chinese family vist type for over 180 days or china permenant residence one? and does it need both parent's original passport to apply for it? your website says no, but i have checked the consulate's website which says yes for applying the chinese visa,, so just want to confirm with you? Thank you!

Your kid can try to apply for Q type with both of the parents' passports. Besides, you still need to provide a kinship certificate showing relationship between you kid and the inviter. So that means her birth certificate as well as your marriage certificate are required.

It is a pity that the passport is needed when applying as I know. Or you may try to contact the embassy or consulate-general for detail infomation.

For the stay of duration of Q1, it is usually over 180 days, but for the exact duration, it depends on the officers.
