Am i eligible to get the 72hrs free visit without visa?

I'm thinking of coming to visit Beijing.I'm travelling from Malaysia and back. So, the route is KUL - PEK - KUL. Also, If that not possible, do i need to apple if it just for transit to Japan?

KC, are you from one of the 51 countries? If not, you can't enjoy 72 hours free transit. Even you are from one of the 51 countries, you may not be eligible for it because your route is KUL-PEK-KUL. If you change your route to KUL-PEK-Japan, then you can enjoy 72 hours free transit.
