visit changbaishan by train from jilin

Question

I understand I can take the train to Tonghua from Jilin. Then how to rent travel agency or van to the mountain?I cannot rent a car in China.I want to see the lake, but I am American so absolutely do not want to travel along Yalu river in DPRK! Not advisable! How to see the lake, can I get there from North or West entrance?

Upon getting to Jilin, you still need take a long-distance bus or train to Baishan city. Then transfer to a bus to Erdao Baihe, where you can take a bus or rent a car to Changbaishan North Slope to see the great view and Yalu River. If you travel alone, I suggest you try to find a local travel agency in Jilin to hire a tour guide, who will accompany you for the following trip. He also would help to rent a car for you of course. If it is still a little hard for you, post your demand on the forum of Travel China Guide. Tour guides who are interested will contact you then. I found a guide Coco on that forum for my Gulin trip last year. Awesome! Well, good luck!
