what is meant by single entry must exit china after 30 days from date of entry

my 15 yr old son's s2 was issued last june 11,2014 and will expire sept.11,2014...but it says must exit china after 30 from the date of entry...can i have further explanation about this? does he needs another one to reenter china after the exit which will be by july 16,2014?
