About:Marriage Registration in China

S1 question

My wife and I just married last week. I am moving to China next month. I have a China Z VISA , but I do not have an new address in China yet. How will we complete the China S1 application without an address? One requirement is an invitation letter and an address where she will live during her visit.

When she applies for the S1 type, she needs a copy of your resident permit. However, you should apply for the temporary resident permit when you arrive in China within one month. So you'd better go first and then assist her to apply for the S1 type.

can she live with me in china on a 60 day L type until I get the documents necessary to apply for her S1 type?

Yes, but she needs get back to the USA to apply for the S1 type. Some people say it can be done in HK. But I am not sure about this. It's ok if she just 30 days L type because she can extend it at the local PSB before it expires.
