You enjoy free entry to HK for 90 days, so just need to apply for a Chinese visa for mainland China in advance via CVASC in your place.

No, you need to apply in advance, and the best time for application is one month prior to your travel. Make an online appointment via CVASC's website, and you can also fill the form online. The processing takes 4 working days, and you can also use express and rush service if necessary.
