About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I qualify?

I have a single entry visa for China and have been here for a few months. My flight back to France leaves the 3rd of July and I would like to visit Hong Kong for a few days before returning. I am planning to leave for Hong Kong on the 28th of June and arriving back to Wuhan on the 2nd of July. My flight leaves 22hours after I arrive back in Wuhan, am I eligible for the 72 hour visa, even if I have only a single entry on my visa. I hold an American passport.

No, this is not allowed, because Wuhan is not included in the cities for 72 hour free transit. So, better not do this. Or you can visit local PSB and ask help for an extension of your current visa with one more entry.

OK, thank you for the clarification. I was a bit concerned if it would work or not. I had been planning on not leaving the airport and waiting for flight to France. It was under 24 hours so I thought maybe it work. Thanks! Saved a lot of hassle!

Hi Chris, if your stay in Wuhan is less than 24 hours without leaving the airport, you can enjoy free transit as well (24 hour free transit applies to this). This requires also your valid passport and confirmed flight ticket for leaving.
