About:China Tourist Visa

I will working in china for approx one year as a volunteer with a program that teaches English

I would like to go 2 weeks early and travel on my own. Do I need two separate types of visas?

Hi, if you work but not for a salary, a business F type is enough for this volunteer work. You need to apply with an invitation letter from China-the school or the organization. It can be used to enter earlier for tour as well.
