It is said that the total length for trade was 10,000 kilometers (6,214 miles) and around 3,000 kilometers (1,864 miles) is in China.

The silk road was over 5,000 miles long. And it did not go over the water. it went through the Gobi desert which is exactly 1.000 miles.
