About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

What type of visa does he need or does he qualify for entry with his green card for a 72 hour transit?

My husband is a permanent US resident/green card holder. We will be in Beijing for 48 hours.

His US resident status doesn't matter. The key is what passport he holds. If he is from one of the 51 listed countries, he can enjoy 72 hours free transit in Beijing.
