You can prepare all the required documents and submit your application to the embassy in person. The basic documents are your passport, application form and a passport photo. Apart from them, you need to provide return air ticket and hotel booking in China. If the embassy deals with your application, you will have it on the fourth working day. If your application is sent to HK Immigration Department, you will wait for a month.
