chinese visa requirement for filipinos with layover for more than 6 hrs at shanghai airport

we are travelling to san francisco california from manila,filipino passport holders.do we need a visa if our flight will layover in shanghai airport for more than 6 hrs?

If you transit less than 24 hours, you won't apply for the G type for your transit. Otherwise, you need to apply for a G type in advance. It requires confirmed connecting air tickets, your passport, completed application form and passport photo.
