from beijing to houhot and dunhuang

I plan to visit beijing for , then to Honhot and Dunhuang , please advice. Thank you.

Direct trains and flights between Beijing and Hohhot are available.

From Hohhot to Dunhuang, you can reach by transfering in Xian by air. Or take a train to Lanzhu and then transfer to another train to get there, which way takes much more time!
