About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72 hours visa free transit: JFK-BEIJING-HONG KONG-BEIJING-JFK

If I was to purchase a ticket from New York via Beijing (less than 72 hrs) to Hong Kong, do I qualify for the 72 hrs free transit?(if Hong Kong S.A.R. is consider a 3rd country or special region? And if return routing is the same can I enjoy the same 72 hrs free privilege twice in the same trip?

Yes, HK SAR has its own immigration regulation which is different from mainland China, so it is considered as the third region concerning this free transit. You can avail the free transit both ways without problem.
