nearest train station from mainland china to lhasa

Hi,   From Mainland China, which is the nearest railway station to Lhasa. Also can we get a same compartment for four seat.

Xining or Golmud in Qinghai. it's hard to say whether you can get four softsleeper bunks in a same compartment, as the tickets are issued randomly from the official ticketing system, and passengers are unable to select the seat number currently.
