Transit Visa requirement if changing airports at Shanghai.

Hi, My partner and I are transitting through Shanghai and Biejing. In Shanghai we have an overnight stay and have to change airports and have booked into the Hongqiau airport hotel, then in the morning fly to Beijing and on to Europe. Will we require a transit one as we need to change airports in Shanghai? We are both Australian. Thanks.

Hi, if your total stay in China is within 24 hours (including flight from Shanghai to Beijing), no visa is required for this transit. Otherwise, you have to apply for a Chinese transit G type in advance through CVASC.
