Swiss Passport Holder Seeks China Visa in the UK

I am in the UK and hold a Swiss passport.

I have been invited to work in China and will receive an invitation from a PRC company for a "Z".

Can I submit my application to the Chinese consulate/Embassy in London and receive it from them even though I don't have a UK Residency Permit, UK ID Card or UK Work Permit?
