About:China Visa Application in USA

Do I need to show an airline ticket? Can I get a visa without a definite departure date?

I will be using my American Express rewards points for my ticket. So getting a ticket takes a little longer.

If you apply for the L type, you need to provide confirmed air ticket. It means that you should ensure your departure date.
