About:Chinese Consulate in San Francisco

DE passort holder can they stay in pvg under 72hrs as transit then continue to HKG

Need to confirm that a German Passport holding can travel to Shanghai staying under 72hrs and continue on to Hong Kong without a visa.. just a transit permit issued upon arrival?

Please let me know if this is correct.

Yes, German passport holder enjoy free transit in Shanghai if the stopover is less than 72 hours. He needs to inform the carrier airling when check in to the plane to Shanghai, then the permit will be issued on arrival showing passport and onward flight ticket.
