i will fly from shanghai pudong airport to the philippines to manilla with my girlfriend

Question

I will fly from Shanghai Pudong Airport to the Philippines to Manilla with my girlfriend for two weeks with China Eastern (all the flights are with this airline). After that we will fly back to Shanghai Pudong Airport and there we have a stop of 12 hours and then flying to Frankfurt Airport, Germany. We are both students here in China, but  i got my resistance permit and she just got the x2 visa with the stay of 180 days and one entry. So first of all, from Shanghai to Manilla each of us are allowed to take one luggage with 20k; but from Manilla to Shanghai each are allowed to take 2x luggages, each 20k; from Shanghai to Frankfurt the same 2x luggages.Now i have a friend in Shanghai who will keep some luggages for us. My question is: Can i go out in Shanghai and check in again with new luggages? i have no problems with the visa because my resistance permit is still valid.Next question: can my girlfriend also go out? what does she have to do? where does she have to show the valid passport, visa for destination country and connecting flight ticket? does she have to go to a police station? that is what i also heard in different websites.Thank You in advance.

according to the immigration regulation, you can go out in Shanghai and check in again with new luggage, but you'd better confirm with the airlines company for the detailed procedures. your girlfriend can go out. she has to put forward the request for transit to the airline in advance, so that the airline can declare this to the Immigration Inspection prior to your arrival. She will be granted a transit permit at the airport, and then she is required to register at a police station with with transit permits within 24 hours after entry. Here it should be clear that the registration will be done when you check in to a hotel.  just take it easy, there will be clear guide or information in the airport to show you how to do the transit. enjoy your trip!

thank you for the answer!so it is for sure that she has to go to a police station to register? because we wont check in in a hotel!  we just want to get our luggages from a friend to check in again. that is the problem, but if we have to go to a police station, i am not sure how long it would take there. I know it from my experience, that it takes a long procedure to do anything at a police station in china.maybe she will just take all the luggages from manilla-shanghai-frankfurt and i will go out and check in again for the rest of our luggages.

your girlfriend does not need to go to the police station if you do not stay in a hotel, a transit permit is enough for her to go out of the airport.
