About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

at the shanghai airport when does the 72 hours begin? at landing or when permit is given?

Hi, actually the 72 hr starts from the 00:00 of the following day as I know. You can try to contact Shanghai airport directly for confirmation. Tel: 0086-21-51105100

My flight arrives at 12.35am, does that still apply? that would mean i could stay up to 95.25 hours.

Hi Natalia, you are advised to confirm this with your airline. Different airline may have different policy concerning this free transit. Personally, I think it is ok because the 72 hour starts from the next day of entry.
