About:China Transit Visa

Transit Visa when I stay in Beijing airport for about two hours

I had a connecting flight from Trinidad to NY to Philippines in May 2013 with a short stop over in Beijing for my connecting flight to Manila. I contacted the Chinese Embassy in my country and was told that i needed a transit type even though my stop off was only for 2hrs. So i had to apply and was granted a V for 2 weeks, which also covered my return stop over in Beijing. Please contact your Chinese Embassy or your airline. Mine actually came in handy because i missed my connecting flight and had to overstay at a hotel in Beijing.

Hi Adesh, thanks very much for sharing this here on this site. But as I know, if one who just transit via China for a stay less than 24 hours, visa is not required, and they just have to apply for a free stay permit at the airport. Please correct me if I m wrong.
