caremaintenance of silk blanket

Question

I purchased a king-sized silk blanket last October in Beijing.  Even with a sheet between the blanket and our bodies, both my wife and I suffered from some itchiness.  Two questions:1.  Any suggestions to prevent this itchiness?2.  We are considering dry-cleaning the blanket in hopes that would be a solution.  Our dry-cleaner was afraid that this method might cause clumping in the silk material.  Any thoughts on this?Thank you for your responses!James V. Leegmail.com|jvlee777

Don't use the dry-cleanr machine to clean it. I suggest you clean its both sides with vacuum cleaner first. Then clean bit by bit with a small towel, wet in solvent gasoline. After twice or three times, the blanket will be clean. Just for your reference!
