About:Chinese Embassy in Ecuador

Questions about obtaining a Chinese visa for a United States husband & wife going to visit China

May I have help please with these questions.

1. How long is a Chinese Tourist L good for after it is issued ?

2. What is the Fee or cost for a United States Husband and Wife?

3. We live in Cuenca. Can our friend bring our Passports to the Chinese Consulate in Quito. Would our friend need a power of attorney ?

4. We are leaving for a cruise in September 2014 to Asia, when do you suggest we apply for it?

5. We are both 70 years old - does that matter ?

Hi, generally, the processing takes about 4 working days. Fee for US passport is US$140 per person. Your friend can handle your application, and a power of attorney is not required but you can prepare for it in case of use. If you plan to visit in September, it is better to apply in August. Travel insurance is helpful if any.

Ben,

My wife and myself also live in Cuenca and will be going to Quito to get a L Visa. Any issues encountered or advice you can provide would be appreciated.
