About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Route : Taipei-Hong Kong - Shanghai-Hong Kong -Taipei

HI ,
Is the above route applicable to the transit permit? Actually , it do matter that much I just don't travel to countries that required visa for Canadian citizens unless on business .

No, your itinerary does not apply to 72 hr free transit. You need to apply for a Chinese visa in advance for this visit. It is ok if you fly from, for example, Taipei-HK-Shanghai-Tokyo/seoul.
