About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is this route eligible for the 240 hour visa-free transit?

Hi,

My plan is to fly from London to Hong Kong. It has a stopover in Shanghai, but I do not plan to leave the airport.

After spending 2 days in Hong Kong, I will fly to Beijing. After 7 days in mainland China I will fly back to London from Chongqing, with a stopover in Shanghai.

Is this route eligible for the 240 hour visa-free transit?

Thanks

Your first route London - Shanghai - HK will be eligible for 24-hour visa-free transit if your stopover in Shanghai is less than 24 hours. If you won't leave the airport, there is no need to do anything, just transit.

Your second route HK - Beijing - Chongqing - Shanghai - London will be eligible for 240-hour visa-free transit. Upon landing in Beijing, go to the 24/240-hour visa-free transit counter to apply for an entry permit. Your flight ticket from Chongqing/Shanghai to London will be checked then.
